Translations and markets

Languages

Unoque's storefront text is in English. You can add more languages to your store and translate everything customers see.

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Languages and add a language.
  2. Install the Shopify Translate & Adapt app, or another translation app.
  3. Translate your content: products, collections, pages, blog posts, menus, and the text in your theme sections and blocks.
  4. Translate the theme's own text, such as Add to cart and Your cart is empty, in the Theme area of the app.
  5. Publish the language.

Tips:

  • Mega menu and highlighted menu item blocks find their menu item by its name. If you translate your menu, translate the Menu item text in those blocks too. See Header and announcement bar.
  • In the Comparison table, "yes" and "no" show as icons. If you translate those values, the translated words show as text instead of icons.
  • Product tags are not translated. If you sell in several languages, benefit chips and badges from tags show in the language you wrote them in.

Countries and currencies

Shopify Markets lets you sell to several countries, each with its own currency, prices and languages. Set up markets in Settings > Markets.

When your store sells to more than one country, customers can choose their country and currency. Unoque has country/region selectors in three places. Turn each on or off:

PlaceSetting
Announcement bar (desktop only)Show country/region selector in the Announcement bar section
Mobile menuShow country/region selector under Mobile menu in the Header section
FooterShow country/region selector in the Footer section

Each place also has a Show language selector setting.

The selectors show only when your store has more than one country or more than one published language. The country selector shows each country with its currency code and symbol.

Currency format

If you sell in several currencies with the same symbol, such as US dollars and Canadian dollars, turn on Show currency codes in Theme settings > Currency format. Prices then show the code, for example $1.00 USD.

Free shipping bar in other currencies

The Free shipping threshold in Theme settings > Cart is an amount in your store currency. The theme can't convert it into other currencies, so the bar shows only to customers who shop in your store currency. Customers who shop in another currency don't see the bar, so they never see a wrong amount.

Your free shipping rates at checkout still apply in every currency. Set them in Settings > Shipping and delivery.
